India Young Professionals Scheme (IYPS)

The India Young Professionals Visa Scheme is now launched.


This visa and UK residence scheme is open to Indian Nationals and will allow Indian citizens aged 18 to 30 years old to live and work in the UK for up to 2 years.

 

Selection of applicants is done through a random ballot that is run several times a year. The ballot is conducted online and basic details are required such as your full name, date of birth, passport details, passport copy, telephone and email address.

 

Successful entries which will be randomly picked will be confirmed by email, to the successful applicants, within 2 weeks of the ballot closing. It’s free to enter the ballot.

 

The first ballot is scheduled for 28 February 2023 and closes on 2 March 2023. The following one is scheduled for July 2023. There would be at least 2400 visas available during the February ballot.

What are the requirements to enter the ballot?

Applicants must be successfully selected before making a visa application.

 

To enter the ballot you must be:

  • an Indian citizen
  • aged between 18 and 30 years old
  • holding an eligible qualification
  • holding at least £2,530 in savings

And what are the requirements to apply for the visa?

To apply for the visa you must:

 

1. Enter your details in the ballot

2. Receive confirmation that your entry has been selected and get an email invitation to apply

3. Apply and enrol your biometrics visa the nearest visa application centre

 

Applications can only be made within 30 days from receiving the confirmation of the successful ballot.

 

Once you’ve applied online, proved your identity and provided your documents, you will usually get a decision on your visa within 3 weeks.

How much will I have to pay?

As part of your application you will need to pay:

 

  • £259 for the application fee
  • £940 for the Immigration Health Surcharge

 

As part of your application you must also show that you at least £2,530 in personal cash savings held in a regulated bank.

Final Points

You must travel to the UK within 6 months of applying for your visa, and you will be given a visa to live and work in the UK for up to 24 months.

 

You can enter the UK at any time while your visa is valid, and leave and come back at any time during your stay – and, holders of the IYPS visa can study, work and set-up business in the UK.

 

Extension under the same route is not permitted, bringing dependants is not possible, access to public funds is restricted and working as a professional sportsperson is not allowed.
